Who cares for the caregiver? Charmène "Mama Vega" Vega asked that question the year she cared for her mother — and realized no one was asking it about her. Today she is a caregiver wellness speaker and the author of Who Cares? The Untold Truth About Caregiving and Self-Sacrifice and its companion Caregiver's Journal.
She brings over 40 years as a fourth-generation nutritionist, chef, and educator to that message. She has consulted for Kaiser Permanente, L.A. Care Health Plan, and Blue Shield Promise, been featured by Food Network, spoken for a U.S. Department of State health and wellness subcommittee, and founded the Mama Vega Neema Educational Center in Kenya. She is a Blue Zones Project Bakersfield partner and a Business Expert at the Kern Women's Business Center.
